ECON – TRAINING FOR INVOLVING YOUNG PEOPLE IN COMMUNITY ORGANIZING ACTIVITIES
Description: the project was implemented in April – July 2009 under Youth in Action Program, Action 4.3 – Training and Networking for active youth organizations and it aimed at the young people’s need to get involved in the community life and in solving its problems. The participants were volunteers from 4 organizations members of ECON for 4 different European countrie: Germany, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania.
Aim of the project: to increase the participation of young people in community life and in solving its problems by implementing the community organizing model.
Project’s objectives:
- to improve the knowledge and skills about using the community organizing model in solving localproblems for 24 participants from the 4 EU countries in a 7 days training event;
- to plan a strategy for developing a community development process in 8 communities (2 for each participant).
Activities:
- preparation;
- e-meetings with the project team in every important phase of the project;
- developing the training curricula; the training event;
- editing a documentary and a brochure for promoting good practices; evaluation of the training and project.

Budget: 22.955 euro (18.944 from the European Commission through Youth in Action Program)
